Steve Jobs presents the Apple iPad January 27th 2010. It went on to be another massive success for Apple but was met with scepticism on its first preview.
It followed on from the success of the iPhone and the iPod Nano series of MP3 players, and many assumed it was just a bigger version of these products. On first glance, users couldn’t understand where it fit into their tech setups or perhaps what the aim of the iPad was. It was only when the iPad was released and started to become used by businesses and educational establishments, did the usefulness of the iPad become realised.
The iPad today is still a fantastically popular device and has sported many tablet clones running on Android. The iPad was an innovation for the time and it could have only come from Steve Jobs.
Tablets are used word wide and many use tablets as their primary interface due to their touch interface, number of applications and their lightness and portability but the Apple iPad was the first commercially successful tablet that made people stand up and take note.
