Christmas as we know it is in jeopardy.
Tired of making these ‘new’ kinds of digital toys, a rogue faction of Elves has risen from the factory, intent on destroying Christmas.
Santa has always looked after his Elves, but disdain for modern consumption of digital and plastic toys as opposed to the wooden ones they were used to building, has bred contempt and dissatisfaction.
A few minor ‘accidents’ and ‘mishaps’ have started to occur at the factory, but it seems impossible to pin the fault on any one Elf. More worryingly, senior Elves have expressed concern that some of these are not accidents, but are in fact acts of vandalism.
Santa is worried, so worried in fact, that he called you when an envelope slid under his door containing a coded message.
He has the feeling that this rogue faction is planning something bigger than the small scale accidents that have occurred so far, and may try to encourage other Elves to join them.
Thankfully a core faction of Elves are still loyal and can be trusted.
Help Santa!
As Christmas draws near, help Santa week by week by solving the clues and helping to foil the suspected sabotage.
Week 1 – Help Santa to decode the encrypted message and figure out what is going on!
Week 2 – Help Santa to convert the binary to denary from the message to get another clue about the operation.
Week 3 – Santa has worked out the co-ordinates but found another note. How has this note been encrypted and can you help him figure out what it says?
