A website update as it has been a while!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’ve taken a little break from the site as you may have noticed over the past couple of weeks. This was to recharge my batteries and to have a really good think about the next steps for the site. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not to say I haven’t been doing anything!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main work has been centred around our social media. We have now setup on Facebook<\/a> and on Instagram<\/a> and have been sorting through the logistics for posting to these and producing content for these three social media channels (and YouTube!). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Social media is an excellent opportunity to market the site, but it needs to be done right and making sure this is setup correctly is crucial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It’s small things like getting images to be the correct size so they look right on all the channels. 1 size of image is great for Facebook and Twitter, but won’t work on Instagram for example! So any time an image is created, a second version needs to be created for Instagram. We may also have to produce another image if we want the image on our front page image slider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What we post has also been another huge consideration in our strategy. What will people find interesting? How can we engage with people so that it is not a passive process? How can we educate through our social media? When should we post and how often???!!! <\/p>\n\n\n\n It’s making sure that a process exists and is written down – the very un-glamourous side of trying to run a website, that is absolutely crucial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Hopefully you will be seeing a few more updates over the coming weeks as we knuckle down into the final stretch of the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Many thanks for your support! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A website update as it has been a while!
